A novel and Short film

DER TREIBENDE FISCHER

The Story

“Film as dream, film as music. No art passes our conscience in the way film does, and goes directly to our feelings, deep down into the dark rooms of our souls.”

Ingmar Bergman
The first draft of the Floating Fisherman was written while Ianic was living abroad in Berlin. The idea developed from a few of his notebook sketches into a thirty page script. The inspiration for the characters come from actors surrounding him at the time and in collaboration with Uta Krüger, they set the wheel in motion and brought together a small technical team and a amazing cast.
While editing the thirty minute film in Hamburg, Ianic reached out to Montreal Composer Vincent L.Pratte who join the team and levitated the film to new heights. The final mix was later completed in Montreal in 2011.
